The BigSpike line of tools was developed by a veteran fire captain
[Mike S.] with help, comments, suggestions, and complaints from his ladder crews – who also named our two tools the Big Spike and Little Spike respectively!

After years of fighting fires with a variety of traditional tools, Capt. Mike used this experience and knowledge to begin making newer ‘customized’ tools that would make the job easier and safer for himself and his crews. What he discovered was that other fire fighters wanted to use what he had built for himself, and the Big Spike Tool Company was born.

Now, after years of testing and research into the areas of materials, weight, durability, usability and safety, the ‘BigSpike’ and ‘LittleSpike’ tools have emerged as the consensus favorites. This new generation of Big Spike Tools has exceeded expectations in every category.
