The Little Spike Tools were developed out of necessity for a tool with the strength and versatility of a Big Spike, but adapted for use in a more confined space. As a result, the patented Little Spike tools have all of the same features as the Big Spike and are made of the same durable materials.
After extensive testing of various combinations of ‘end tools’ under actual firefighting conditions, the Little Spike worked best with an ergonomically designed ‘coal shovel handle’ at one end, and either the FOOT or SPIKE at the other end making it ideal for close quarters venting and overhaul work in confined or cramped spaces.
Because of the strength and weight considerations, the HANDLE is also made of Tenzaloy™. The SPIKE end, with a 30” shaft, proved to be the first choice for most routine close quarters work.
